The mix is very good, with Howe being more upfront than Wakeman. Though I love Wakeman's playing, when he is mixed as high as Howe (or often higher), the balance is thrown off and Howe is very hard to hear clearly. [There are many recordings where I think Wakeman is just too damn high in the mix, drowning Howe out, which ruins the show for me.] Howe is having a superb night. Playing all over the place, he is the driving force of the band this night. This performance has that special warm "feel" of the LP Tales, which is often missing from the live performances. Check out the very beginning of AYAI. RIGHT before Howe kicks in with his wonderful peddle steel, you can hear someone say "Wah". I think this is Howe. If you've ever seen any of the 70's videos of Yes when Howe is playing the peddle steel, you'll know he likes to the mouth the sound of the instrument as he plays it. It sounds like the "wah" is Howe caught on the mic mouthing the sound of the steel right before he kicks in with it.
