This is how it went: Stipe is in the middle of singing Moon River... audience member: "fuck off!" Mills: "You come up here and..." Stipe: "I can see you..." Mills: "Come on! Come on! Come up here and say it" (audience cheers and claps) Stipe: "Are you blushing yet? You feeling stupid?" Mills: "Easy for you from down there isn't it, come on up here and say it" Then later on after 1,000,000... Buck: "The guy who yelled 'fuck you' during Moon River meet me backstage you asshole" After a shocking version of Sweet Home Alabama in which Stipe sings that he can't remember the 2nd verse... Stipe: "Guitar players can't sing for shit!" Buck: "Singers can't play guitar for shit either" This show would have to be one of the most unusual and memorable R.E.M. shows of all time (in my opinion anyway), the amount of cover versions and the fact they were ready to beat up an audience member (as well as the fact they must had a little too much to drink) all adds up to an incredible show.
