Previous posts used the GAS 1974 Rotterdam release for these tracks, but the material in this post was wrongly banned as it contains un-broadcast Radio Bremen material instead. Contrast clause: Tomyoungster shorter FM version... http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=510394 Previous shorter remaster... http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=524019 Official GAS release http://planetgong.altervista.org/Dope.htm is not used here Great updated artworks, courtesy of Fastone - thanks too !! Quality: Definitely EX, possibly the best SQ Radio Bremen re-broadcast ====================================================================== Source 1 is a great quality digital re-broadcast in bit rate, performance and SQ and wass a real upgrade over the FM version. Since I first posted it, Tomyoungster posted a great / longer pre-fm version, which Dime Mods banned on the mistaken impression it was a GAS Rotterdam offical release. I contacted PlanetGong (who release GS) and their admin on Planetgong.co.uk who suggested I put it on their forum for members definitive opinion. I was sent an mp3 GAS Rotterdam copy and sent them copy of the Tomyoungster materail and all universally agreed is valuable new material, not the GAS Rotterdam material. Dime Mods have cleared this new posting. The pre-fm did need a lot of work to get it successfully to near the same SQ as the digital broadcast, needing correction of hundreds of small phase offsets and many other fixes below, so what you have here is the complete Radio Bremen material. The usual set closer Flying Teapot is not on the Bremen tapes, so may or may not have been played. However after a massive amount of editing, I was not satisfied I could get the pre-FM material to sound the same as the digital broadcast and gave up for 3 years. Recently I have started collaborating with rdwm who has EQ skills that complement mine and he was able to get a very close match. This then highlighted that there are truly massive and frequently varying phase offset shifts that needed a lot of work to get right, but with rdwm's ears to help with listening to multiple version, we now have the final version with apologies to all who have helped in the past and have waited so long. Here you now have a excellent sounding complete concert, with fine performances from a very competent group of musicians (even faint echoes of old Soft Machine in places), which is a real revelation compared to the trippy psychedelic sound you might expect from their official releases.
