This is a superb remaster of a great FM tape, an A-plus and then some, all the better as the show has many moments of musical brilliance. Phil's voice craps out at times (it's Baltimore's fault), which seems to make the band work even harder. Bruford brings a fresh vibe and is a joy to hear on the old tunes. This is a well-shared show but I figured the den should have it up as well for any who haven't heard it. It's definitely in the cream of Genesis live recordings. Sounds great reeeeally loud; the bass pedals will break your lease! Review notes from www.bluesnaggletooth12.com site: Comments: A FAde definitive re-master of this show from the Trick Of The Tail tour, considered by many to be the ultimate show of the ATOTT tour; played at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The sound really is very, very good (not quite official release quality, but so close that it hardly seems fair to quibble) and it includes all of the introductory stories. A great set, from early on in Phil's long job as lead singer--he greets the crowd thinking he is at last night's venue! As usual Mike does the intro story for "White Mountain." Before "Firth Of Fifth" Phil introduces Bill Bruford. At the very end of the first disc there is a small crackle, no doubt added by the burning process, which seems to come after the recording has ended. Hackett introduces "Entangled" and as usual explains a bit of the background behind the song (psychiatry, insomnia, and a painting by Kim Poor). The backing vocals on this song and on the end of "The Lamb" seem higher in the mix than I usually hear them, which is nice. "Supper's Ready" has the normal extended and quite humorous intro which involves Mike talking about Phil's ability to tap dance; then Phil and Mike tell the audience they are on the radio: "Would anyone like to say hello to their mothers?" There is a point right near the beginning of "Apocalypse In 9/8" where the recording clearly shifts to an alternate source; there's no loss in quality, and the shift is smooth and expertly done; it's just noticeable. After the concert ends, there is some more of that crackling heard at the end of disc one, then various edited together announcements made by the radio station DJ during the broadcast of this concert. They are not as good quality as the rest of the concert (probably they're from a different source), but it's cool to have them there; the band line-up is provided, complete with the instruments played.
