Notes that came with this recording: This completes the Boston Brand X trilogy. The 1st time, a quartet with no guitar. The second time they brought 2 guitarists, since Goodsall didn't feel up to playing a whole show. The third time, it was what most of America saw of Brand X 1978, a 5 piece band with Mike Miller, without Goodsall. Both these recordings are complete (except 1 flip cut each show about 46 minutes in) and no major problems this time, although I still had cheesy mikes at least this time I had 2 of them. Mismatched for sure, probably the same ones for both shows, and in keeping with the tradition of variety (this and that productions was good at that too) of Brand X Boston 78 concerts, the 1st 2 were done on TDK-AD, the 10/24 was on Maxell UD, and the 25th on TDK-SA. I think the tape quality is very similar on all the recordings. You're getting them all from my master tapes, being upped by me for the very first time ever (The quartet shows are in a seperate torrent already posted). I mistakenly listed Mike Clark as drummer in the Aug. 2, 78 shows I posted, he does play here, the August ones have Chuck Burgi. Each of these shows runs about 100 minutes or so. They are both complete, very similar quality, and both from my master auds being seeded for the first time 08-Feb-28. I like to upload a variety of bands and recently upped the August shows although some folks have waited long and patiently to hear these from a master seeding. So the waiting is over. Now everyone can hear the Brand X some got to hear, patched and reworked, slowly getting the wagon wheel out of the muck, past that brutal Goodsalless and Coping period they had while the rest of America got to see the REAL Brand X (in 77 and some also in 79- Boston got Neither, because our stage was too small to fit Pert and Dennard)! This is John Goodsall on the comeback trail (in 24th show only) from tendonitis, but he manages to play a few songs. Do not sell this recording (Goodsall is "jonesing" for dollars enough already). Trade freely and losslessly. 78-Oct-25 setlist: 1 Walk-On + Tuning 2 Earth Dance 3 Band Introductions 4 Access To Data 5 Black Moon > The Ghost Of Mayfield Lodge > Masques > Percussion + Drums > The Poke 6 Deadly Nightshade 7 Nuclear Burn
